If you’re anything like me, you probably spend quite some time trying to manage your time. This week I’ve tried a different approach. Instead of trying to manage my time, I’ve managed my focus. Guess what? When I set my focus on my next big thing, I automatically tend to spend more time on activities taking me in that direction.
Lesson learned: stop managing your time, start managing your focus.
Your Past Doesn’t Dictate Your Future. Your Future Does.
entrepreneur, inspiration, next big thing, startupOf course it is interesting to listen to others’ experiences. But in my opinion, hearing what you will do in the future, based on what you’ve learned so far, is way more interesting. Still we tend to spend so much time thinking and talking about the past when we’re about to take the next step in our professional lives. Where’s the logic in that? Our next step is supposed to take us into the future, so maybe smart to focus on the future… Remember: your past doesn’t dictate your future. Your future does. What’s your next big thing?
That Would Be Something To Celebrate.
entrepreneur, next big thing, startupListened to the radio today and they were celebrating that more than half of the workweek is done. Makes me sad. What life is that, spending the week longing for the weekend? I’m also thinking of the waste of potential when people go to a work they don’t like. Imagine how much we could accomplish if we did something we love, where our creativity could flourish, where we could use and expand our unique strengths and explore and push all the exciting opportunities around us.
Now that would be something to celebrate… 🙂
Ready To Free Your Inner Hero?
entrepreneur, inspiration, next big thingI’m super fascinated by heroes. Think it started when I read Lord of the Rings for the first time. Lately I’ve been thinking about why, what’s so special with these heroes? To me, it’s about courage. It’s about stepping up on your path even though you don’t know exactly where to go or if you do have what it takes… I think we need more heroes in work life too – those who decide to follow their own path and create the professional life they want instead of struggling at some pre-defined career path.
Ready to free the hero inside?
Why People Want To Work With Me.
entrepreneur, inspiration, next big thingOne of my major reasons for running my own business is to be able to work where I want, when I want and with whom I want. This gives me freedom to explore and develop and constantly reinvent myself, my concepts, my company and the way I do business. I continuously learn from my amazing clients and partners who help me launch an updated beta version of myself every day. I become more and more me, and more and more unique. So does my business. My firm belief is that that’s what makes people wanna work with me. The same goes for you.
Make Sure Your Work Inspires You.
entrepreneur, inspiration, next big thing, startupWhen you feel inspired you will inspire others. And there’s nothing you cannot do. Make sure your work inspires you. If not, you’ll waste your potential.
What will you do today to get inspired?
Have You Played At Work Today?
entrepreneur, next big thing, startupHave you played at work today? Not? What a pity. Often we put a lot of time and effort into optimizing the ”left brain side” of our businesses; processes, systems etc. etc. What if we should put the same amount of time and effort into developing the “right brain side”; creativity, playfulness, experimentation… Would we see more cool and useful products and services? I think so 🙂
Stop Managing Your Time.

My Formula To Get Unstuck.
entrepreneur, inspiration, next big thing, startupThought I should share my formula to get unstuck and get going for Your Next Big Thing with you. Here it is:
The Biggest Risk Is Not Taking Any Risk.
entrepreneur, inspiration, next big thing, startupWorth repeating: The biggest risk is not taking any risk. Our greatest enemy is stagnation. The world around you will change, no matter if you want it to or not. You have to change too. Change equals a certain amount of risk. Though, trying to stay the same is much riskier.
Organize For Abundance.
entrepreneur, inspiration, next big thing, startupOne of the things that stuck with me from Sime earlier this week, was Salim Ismail talking about how traditional organizations are organized for scarcity while exponential organizations are organized for abundance. We need to rethink traditional top-down structures that no longer work. I believe we’ll see completely new ways of organizing and working where more people run their own businesses working and cooperating on their own terms. I believe the opportunities to create the professional life you want have never been greater. And I believe we’ll all benefit from that.
